The company  factline Webservices GmbH has specialized in distributed knowledge work and offers products and consulting services for owners of virtual knowledge communities.
The success of virtual communities is greatly influenced by the
efficiency of communication. Major success factors are the reliable
availability of content items as well as the possibility to link
content.
The software "factline Community Server (FCS)"
has been especially designed for the management of knowledge
communities. Management of virtual communities takes place via internet platforms
where specific information (articles, documents, images, etc.) is
published either for internal or public use. In addition, users are
provided with various possibilities for interaction in order to
communicate directly with each other .
The FCS
is ideally suited for learning infrastructures for educational
institutions (e-learning) or for distributed project communication.
Moreover, websites, customer platforms, topic-oriented platforms or communities of practice for companies with several offices can be administered.
In order to realize living communities, experience is needed. We offer experience in form of consulting services dealing with knowledge management.
In a second business area, "Content Licensing",
factline has established contacts with major print media in
German-speaking countries, Central and Eastern Europe, Russia as well
as countries of the former Soviet Republic. As a result, we have
long-lived experience in negotiating content-licensing contracts.
